You have to ask yourself what life lessons children really learn if parents step in to do the work for them, get them into schools that may be over their head, or get them out of trouble.  Nowhere is this parental philosophy more destructive than when it comes to managing a child struggling with substance abuse and addiction. Children must be able to experience the natural consequences of poor decisions often driven by their pursuit of the substance and learn from those experiences.
