One of the prime directives we have as parents is to be observant, recognize the signs that your child may be in trouble and find ways to intervene.  Where your child is concerned, where there is smoke, there is often a fire waiting to happen or already burning. Know what to look out for, then take those signs as a signal that you need to investigate, create a plan to address these issues and get corrective action.
