We have explored the circumstances that children face in childhood that increase their risk of developing addiction. As I shared, 90% of addicts become afflicted before their 18th birthday when their brain is in those critical stages of development. When was confronted by my daughter Laura's drug use when she was 15 years old, I was shocked. However, looking back, there were signs there that I missed.
