Day 25: Is Your Child a Thermostat or Thermometer

The ability for a child to self-regulate himself means that they exert control over their “climate” vs. being the thermometer that goes up or down as their climate changes. Self -regulatory skills help children focus their attention, control their emotions and be deliberate about their thinking, behavior, and feelings. Self-regulation is related to brain development and develops slowly over time until early adulthood.
